About the position

Elite Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Cloud Engineer to join our team and drive innovation in cloud engineering and DevOps practices. In this role, you will work closely with software engineering teams to design, automate, and optimize application deployment and runtime environments across multi-cloud platforms. With a strong foundation in programming, cloud infrastructure, and automation, you’ll lead by example to build scalable, high-quality solutions and mentor team members to adopt best practices in cloud and DevOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement cost-effective, high-performance Azure cloud solutions, including migrating on-premises applications to the cloud.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to automate and accelerate application testing, release, and deployment into runtime environments.
  • Build and implement highly automated, scalable solutions that enable product and engineering teams to innovate efficiently.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to establish a DevOps center of excellence.
  • Write production-quality code in Go or Python, building infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform, Pulumi, ARM templates, or similar tools.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, CircleCI, GitHub, or similar technologies.
  • Leverage observability toolsets like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to monitor system performance and reliability.
  • Participate in and lead architectural design discussions, contributing to strategic decisions and implementation plans.
  • Mentor and coach junior and senior DevOps engineers, fostering a quality-first mindset and sharing best practices.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies, assessing their impact and implementing optimized solutions.
  • Provide on-call support to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, identifying scalable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Engage with stakeholders and executive leadership to align on objectives and communicate progress effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale, distributed applications in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Strong programming skills with experience in Go, Python, or similar languages.
  • Expertise in containerization, Kubernetes, and automating cluster deployments.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure-as-code practices with tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or ARM templates.
  • Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, CircleCI, GitHub, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Proven track record of leading architectural discussions and implementing scalable, automated solutions.
  • Strong mentoring and teaching skills with the ability to guide engineers at all levels.
  • A passion for cloud technologies, with experience evaluating and implementing emerging services.
  • Excellent communication skills to manage relationships with stakeholders and executives effectively.
  • Ability to work in an on-call rotation and resolve critical production issues efficiently.
