About the position

The Senior Standards Architect will play a crucial role in the Store Development Team at Amazon, focusing on creating and implementing architectural and engineering design standards for retail environments. This position requires a deep understanding of code requirements and a passion for innovative retail design, as well as strong project management and communication skills. The architect will collaborate with various internal and external teams to ensure the development of world-class shopping experiences for customers.

Responsibilities

• Driving and creating program documentation, standards and design modules through Revit and other production software
• Directly manage architectural and engineering consultants in the development of store design guidelines, standards and specifications for existing and new concepts
• Working with key internal and external stakeholders in the production of comprehensive architectural and engineering packages for all phases of design
• Creating presentations as needed to communicate design
• Communicating with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
• Reviewing shop drawings, specifications and cut sheets
• Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments and managing competing demands
• Coordinating with construction team on budget considerations and value engineering efforts

Requirements

• 6+ years of design experience
• Have an available online portfolio
• Experience understanding needs of business and end customers and translating them into right solutions
• Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
• Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management
