Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

The Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, onboarding, and growth of suppliers, ensuring stable and capable manufacturing processes are in place to meet customer demand. This role involves influencing design at the concept stage, supplier assessment, process capability analysis, and managing change, while ensuring product integrity as parts are transferred to suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Support the manufacturing of complex machining/gear/motor components within the supply base.
• Prepare part risk assessments and conduct them with the suppliers.
• Review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with various departments to understand and communicate design intent to suppliers.
• Recommend processes, tooling, and inspection methods to suppliers.
• Assist suppliers in resolving manufacturing problems related to Moog parts.
• Review manufacturing specifications and provide technical guidance.
• Identify manufacturing concerns in new product designs and communicate these using a data-driven approach.
• Conduct DFX / DFMA activities on new designs with suppliers.
• Review PPAP submittals for completeness and accuracy.
• Create and participate in FMEA activities with suppliers.
• Conduct gage R & R’s and MSA with Moog and suppliers.
• Review process capability data.
• Participate in the Moog Zero Defect journey utilizing AS9145 concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain); Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
• Experience in Complex Machined Parts and Gears is required.
• Specialist technical experience in metallurgy, processing knowledge, metrology, GD&T, electrical motor assemblies.
• Experience with supplier improvement efforts and best practices.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong data-driven decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in core defect prevention tools (DFMA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Analysis, Error Proofing, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams under pressure.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (APQP and PPAP).
• Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations (AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145).
• Formal continuous improvement qualification (Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt) desired.
• High degree of numeracy and knowledge of statistical techniques.
