About the position

The Senior System/Test Engineer will join Volt's engineering team in Richardson, TX, focusing on the development and maintenance of mission software systems. This role involves providing technical guidance, conducting both informal and formal testing, and collaborating with various stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Program Leadership and teammates to design and develop software.
• Provide technical direction and clarification to team members during the software development lifecycle.
• Apply systems engineering expertise to feature designs to reduce overall risk.
• Create and execute regression and system release test procedures for pertinent systems.
• Engage with customer user representatives to gather user needs and incorporate them into feature designs.
• Work with SMEs from other disciplines to understand solutions and document designs.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly Clearance is required.
• DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level I (minimum) Certification.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or 10-12 years of direct experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with requirements decomposition and CONOPS development.
• Understanding of Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Strong communication skills, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Extensive systems engineering experience, including support to development of large software systems.
• Experience with authoring and executing formal test procedures for internal and customer witness testing.

Nice-to-haves
