About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer III (Storage) at TMC Technologies is responsible for the design, deployment, testing, certification, and maintenance of enterprise-grade storage systems and networking equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of various storage technologies and protocols, as well as the ability to manage complex storage environments for federal clients. The position demands a methodical approach to change management to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Support highly available enterprise grade storage arrays and storage networking equipment.
• Manage NAS/file storage protocols such as SMB/CIFS, NFS v3 and v4.
• Handle ISCSI and/or Fiber Channel Fabric connections to switches and arrays.
• Utilize functional knowledge of Windows Server operating system and Active Directory/LDAP/DNS/NTP/Kerberos for network file system storage access.
• Manage Windows NTFS security settings, Windows ACLs, and VSS snapshots.
• Oversee POSIX OS ACLs/mode-bits for file system permissions.
• Manage Windows Distributed File System (DFS) for SMB HA.
• Conduct file-based data migrations using applications like Robocopy and rsync.
• Implement changes methodically to avoid risk and downtime in an enterprise environment.
• Understand storage concepts like RAID, hard disk technology, disk/device tiering, disk cache, compression, data-deduplication, replication, snapshots, and host multipathing.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware VCenter/vSphere/vSAN as it pertains to storage.
• Experience with various storage solutions including Cohesity, Pure Storage, DellEMC, and others.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance required.
• Minimum of 10 years of storage related experience required.
• Advanced mainstream storage vendor certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Cohesity, Pure Storage FlashArray or FlashBlade, DellEMC, object protocols (S3), Dell Compellent, WesternDigital Intelliflash, Netapp, EMC VNX, Isilon, Hitachi Arrays and Hitachi Command Suite.
