About the position

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for leading projects by developing system architectures, defining requirements, and creating innovative solutions to meet mission-level needs. This role involves direct customer interaction, collaboration with engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications throughout the system development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of system architectures, including hardware, software, networks, and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document system requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the integration of system components, subsystems, and interfaces, including testing and validation activities.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of integrated solutions.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain configuration management processes to control and track changes to system baselines.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system requirements specifications and design documents.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to the evolution of engineering methodologies.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in systems modeling and simulation tools (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 10 years of experience in systems engineering.

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with RF component design for ground and space-based applications.
