About the position
The Senior Tax Analyst position at the Department of the Treasury involves performing agency-wide assignments that significantly impact operational issues. The role requires conducting business impact assessments, analyzing complex problems, and coordinating various functions and operations within the Taxpayer Services Division. This position is critical for developing new approaches to existing business processes and requires strong analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct business impact assessments of field and headquarters operations.
- Serve on task forces or study groups to analyze program operations.
- Plan, analyze, and determine cost/benefit relationships for various functions.
- Independently study complex problems within specialized areas of the organization.
- Coordinate input from activities outside the division to identify new work methods.
Requirements
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
- Experience with IRS functions, programs, policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Experience with analytical and evaluative methods to develop new approaches to business processes.
- Experience applying project and program management principles.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to present plans and proposals.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a federal government environment.
