About the position

The Senior Technical Recruiter at Western Governors University (WGU) is responsible for developing and executing effective recruiting strategies to attract top technical talent. This role involves leading complex recruitment projects, collaborating with hiring managers, and influencing hiring decisions to align with organizational goals. The recruiter will work in a performance-driven environment, ensuring a positive candidate experience while supporting the university's mission to expand access to higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies for technical roles.
  • Execute end-to-end recruitment processes across diverse functions and levels.
  • Cultivate impactful relationships, exert influence, provide guidance, and communicate seamlessly across organizational levels.
  • Collaborate with various People and Talent colleagues on recruiting and staffing needs.
  • Conduct consultative intake meetings, ensuring proactive communication with timely status updates, assess challenges, and drive solution-oriented results.
  • Source talent to meet staffing requirements.
  • Utilize external market data, engage with vendors, leverage diverse sourcing channels, and embrace technology to build and sustain external talent pipelines.
  • Identify opportunities for refining recruitment processes and optimizing the use of sourcing tools.
  • Thrive in a performance-driven environment.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related field
  • 4 years of progressive full cycle recruitment experience, specializing in technical roles
  • Working knowledge of full cycle recruiting
  • Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations, including EEO requirements
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Knowledge and experience using sourcing tools
  • Effective negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to apply mature and discrete thinking/problem solving/decision-making in various situations
  • Working knowledge of recruiting and sourcing tools, including ATS, job boards, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook for scheduling/managing calendars
  • Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships across the University
  • Ability to utilize industry trends to develop innovative recruiting practices and strategies
  • Understanding of compensation philosophies and job leveling.
