About the position

The Senior Training Development Analyst position at PacifiCorp in Portland, Oregon, is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the company's training programs and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs and curricula that align with the company's commitment to customer service excellence, environmental sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. This role requires a deep understanding of effective learning principles and the ability to apply the Systematic Approach to Training/ADDIE process to create impactful training experiences. In this position, the analyst will conduct thorough training assessments and gap analyses to identify individual training needs. They will collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and owners to develop and deliver training that meets the diverse needs of the organization. The analyst will utilize various tools, including Microsoft Office, Articulate 360, and Adobe Creative Suite, to create engaging training materials that are tailored to the audience and learning objectives. Additionally, the Senior Training Development Analyst will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation of training activities, tracking compliance with regulatory standards, and providing support during audits. They will also monitor emerging technologies and trends in training techniques to continuously improve the effectiveness of training programs. This role is essential for ensuring that all training initiatives are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements, ultimately contributing to the overall success of PacifiCorp's workforce development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design and develop training incorporating effective learning principles using the Systematic Approach to Training/ADDIE process.
  • Evaluate business needs, training requirements, business policies, external standards, regulations and emerging regulations to develop new or refined training programs.
  • Plan, develop, and deliver training and development programs, determining appropriate delivery methods (i.e., in-person training, virtual or blended learning).
  • Use appropriate tools to develop training (i.e., Microsoft Office, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite), ensuring alignment with content, audience, and learning objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders, owners, and subject matter experts to identify specific learning needs through gap analysis and objectives.
  • Design, develop and lead training assessments, training evaluation, and effectiveness surveys that adhere to policies and requirements.
  • Scope training to diverse audiences and topics, including business skills, corporate applications, and complex technical training plans and programs.
  • Maintain documentation, track and report activities in accordance with policy, program and regulation standards.
  • Provide training documentation and support during regulatory audits (i.e., NERC, WECC).
  • Apply tested adult learning principles, instructional design and visual design methods to lead training development with subject matter experts.
  • Monitor information and developments in emerging technologies, trends, and training techniques while maintaining awareness of current policies, requirements and regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in training development or a related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
