About the position

The Senior Underwriter position within Baker Tilly Capital, LLC's Development Community Advisory - Capital Formation (DCA) team offers a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team within our FINRA Broker-Dealer. This role is designed for a valued business advisor who will deliver industry-focused financial services to energy and infrastructure clients. Baker Tilly Capital is recognized as a Boutique Investment Bank that specializes in Tax Credits, Mergers & Acquisitions, capital sourcing, project finance, and corporate advisory. With a proven track record of financing over 1,000 tax credit transactions and managing over $20 billion in tax credits, including 45Q, New Markets Tax Credit, Affordable Housing, Historic Tax Credits, and Opportunity Zones, Baker Tilly has established strong relationships with nearly all of the top 20 largest U.S. banks, as well as many regional and community banks and numerous Fortune 500 corporations. As part of the Energy Team, which is currently comprised of forty-five professionals, you will play a crucial role in navigating the significant energy transition from traditional energy sources to clean energy and decarbonization. This position will involve helping clients develop and finance key energy infrastructure projects, working closely with practice area leadership to serve clients who are at the forefront of this transition. You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the growth of the business within Baker Tilly and play a significant role in the firm's success in the energy sector. Responsibilities

  • Deliver industry-focused financial services to energy and infrastructure clients.
  • Assist in the development and financing of key energy infrastructure projects.

  • Leverage experience and investor base in clean energy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in underwriting, particularly in energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of tax credits and financing structures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the Inflation Reduction Act and its implications for energy projects.
  • Familiarity with clean energy technologies and trends.
  • Previous experience in a boutique investment banking environment.
