About the position

The UX Research team is part of Rubrik's Design team and works across many types of product initiatives at Rubrik to more effectively and efficiently deliver products and experiences that fulfill user needs. We're a close-knit, collaborative group, guided by a highly iterative user-centered design process. Combining research, data, and thoughtful critique, we're discovering needs and solving fundamental problems that impact how organizations around the world manage and protect their data. In addition to conducting research, we also enable our teams (engineers, product managers, designers, sales, etc.) to learn and apply research skills. You will play a role in shaping how we build research as a core competency across Rubrik and define how we put users first when conducting research.

Responsibilities

  • Help set the bar for a consumer grade design
  • Create a deep understanding and empathy for our target customers through field research, surveys, personas, and other methods that you identify to be most effective
  • Work closely and in full collaboration with design, dev, and product teams to identify research topics, and build a research roadmap; communicate and refresh on a regular basis to ensure relevancy
  • Ability to identify appropriate methodological framework given the problem space and/or research question
  • Ability to independently manage research recruitment and scheduling logistics
  • Ability to work within time constraints, shifting and competing priorities and schedules
  • Ability to synthesize findings and make design/product recommendations
  • Ability to develop metrics that appropriately reflect the user experience quality of a feature, product, or system
  • Communicate results and recommendations, and advocate on behalf of our customers

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience working within an enterprise company, researching consumer, enterprise and/or mobile user experiences
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting and analytical tools) across multiple products areas and departments
  • Experience with managing a complex workload and prioritizing in accordance with business priorities
  • Experience with storytelling with data, storytelling styles, delivery mechanisms, tools, and visualizations and presenting to cross-functional teams
  • An online portfolio or work samples will need to be provided

Nice-to-haves

  • B.A/B.S or MS / Phd in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCI, or a related field
