About the position

The Senior Vehicle Systems Engineer (SVSE) is responsible for addressing complex engineering challenges related to transit vehicles and their systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, testing, and evaluating various components, including electrical and electromechanical systems, software-controlled systems, and diagnostic tools. The SVSE will work independently and may also engage in documentation review and support for various engineering shops as directed by management.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex engineering problems related to transit vehicles.
• Participate in troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of transit vehicles.
• Test and evaluate electrical and electromechanical systems.
• Utilize diagnostic and special testing tools for system evaluation.
• Conduct documentation reviews and witness testing as required.
• Support engineering shops as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Three years of professional experience in electrical or mechanical transit vehicle systems engineering or related fields.
• Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) is preferred.
