Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal Cloud Engineer / Sr. Principal Cloud Engineer – 14395. This positions will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation for cloud deployments and assist with migration efforts from on-prem systems to the cloud.
  • Provide operational cloud support to the Sentinel program.
  • Create custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on tasks.
  • Automate compliance and security checks using custom scripts.
  • Perform server administration tasks including user/group management, security permissions, and group policies.
  • Research event-log warnings and errors; monitor resources to ensure systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.

Requirements

  • Principal Cloud Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Sr Principal Cloud Engineer: 8 Years with Bachelors in relevant field of study; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
  • 3+ Years experience with AWS, IAM, Information Security, Automation, and Cloud Infrastructure Management.
  • 3+ Years experience supporting a cloud environment (AWS preferred) including delivering, securing, and managing container-based applications.
  • 3+ Years proficiency in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and experience with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM).
  • 3+ Years experience with Linux Operating Systems including RHEL 8.
  • 3+ Years experience with Windows enterprise architecture including Active Directory, DHCP, GPOs, DNS, and LDAP.
  • Active IAT Level II certification to satisfy DoD 8570 directive.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, Terraform, vCenter, vSphere, or similar Virtual Provisioning.
  • Experience with Automation/Configuration Management with Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible.
  • Experience with source code configuration management tools (i.e git).
  • Experience with Keycloak and Vault.
  • Familiarity with container hardening and SBOM.
  • Prior experience in a DevSecOps focused environment.
