Server FT Hourly Pay

About the position

The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of the dining room following meal service. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining a good working knowledge of all dining room and kitchen responsibilities and procedures, understanding basic kitchen equipment operation, and maintaining a clean work area in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room. The Server assists residents when placing orders from the menu, provides beverage service, refills condiment bowls, and reports any broken equipment or tableware to the supervisor. The role requires understanding sit-down service and proper serving techniques, as well as basic food preparation knowledge. The Server must also attend required in-services and staff meetings and complete all other duties assigned, while being attentive to the special needs of residents.

Responsibilities

• Courteously serve resident and guest meals
• Clean-up and reset dining room after meal service
• Maintain knowledge of dining room and kitchen responsibilities
• Understand basic kitchen equipment operation
• Maintain a clean work area in the kitchen and dining room
• Assist residents with menu orders
• Provide beverage service
• Refill condiment bowls before and after meals
• Report broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
• Understand proper serving techniques
• Assist with tray service
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers, and supervisors

Requirements

• Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours
• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions
• Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
• Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects
• Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three hours at a time
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
• Must be organized and willing to work well with team members
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
