About the position

Tlingit and Haida Tribal Business Council is seeking a driven and detail-oriented intern to join our team, focusing on supply chain operations and government purchasing processes. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in analyzing supplier performance and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Responsibilities include learning and utilizing purchasing software and approval processes, analyzing options for product purchases, updating databases, generating reports, and working independently while supporting team initiatives. This internship will provide a comprehensive understanding of government purchasing and supply chain operations. You will develop skills in supplier analysis, cost optimization, and database management, gaining practical insights into procurement strategies within a structured organizational framework. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to enhance their knowledge of supply chain processes while contributing to meaningful projects that support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and utilize purchasing software and approval processes
  • Analyze options to identify the best products for purchase
  • Evaluate supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Update and maintain supply chain databases
  • Generate accurate and timely reports to support decision-making
  • Work independently while contributing to team initiatives and goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Supply Chain or related field degree program
  • Ability to learn purchasing software and approval process
  • Ability to analyze best options for product purchase
  • Ability to work independently and support a team
  • Ability to update databases and generate reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to travel as needed
