About The Position

The Shift Leader at Luna Grill plays a crucial role in inspiring and developing the team while upholding the restaurant's high standards. The Shift Leader is responsible for running shifts effectively, providing leadership, and assisting the manager as needed.

Requirements

  • One year of restaurant experience preferred, with team management or supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
  • Effective communication skills, courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Trustworthy and reliable with excellent basic math skills.
  • Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and develop team members to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Assist with training of team members and cashiers.
  • Inform guests of limited-time offers (LTOs) and menu changes, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the brand and menu items, answering questions about food and beverages.
  • Take guest food orders and handle cash and credit transactions according to standards.
  • Work with kitchen staff to meet special requirements for food preparation.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the service area, dining room, and restrooms.
  • Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences, ensuring satisfaction with food and service.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and thank them for their visit.
  • Delegate tasks to the front of the house team regarding daily operations.
  • Assist with inventory counting and data entry into the computer system.
  • Assist with morning administrative duties, including bank runs and invoicing.
  • Ensure the restaurant runs efficiently in the manager's absence.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings and training, bringing suggestions for improvements.
