About The Position

The Shift Process Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operational activities related to the processing of raw sugar during their assigned shift. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing shift operations to ensure plant reliability, safety, and environmental compliance. The supervisor must exercise independent judgment and take charge of site operations in the absence of regular management, focusing on maintenance and repairs during non-crop periods.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Preferred experience in a Sugar Mill or Food Production.
• Strong safety background related to industrial facilities and OSHA General Industry Regulations.
• Understanding of material handling systems, piping, valves, pressure vessels, pumps, cooling towers, and other related equipment.
• Experience managing employees in a union environment is preferred.
• Ability to work a rotating shift in a 24/7 operation.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable.

• Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with other Plant Supervisors regarding day-to-day operating conditions.
• Schedules work assignments, sets priorities, and directs the work of subordinate operations union employees and contractors.
• Provides guidance to workers in adjusting, repairing, and maintaining machines and equipment that fail to meet standards.
• Assists the Mill Process Manager in reviewing procedures and investigating operating incidents and abnormalities.
• Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports, maintains records, and composes correspondence as required.
• Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
• Identifies employee development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
• Complies with and enforces Florida Crystals Corporation's Environmental Health and Safety Policy (EHS).
• Investigates accidents and injuries and prepares reports accordingly.
• Communicates with immediate Supervisor and/or Managers to optimize resources for improving production.
• Provides coverage for other shifts when another Shift Process Supervisor is unavailable.
