About the position

We are currently seeking PBS Intern to join our PBS Shared Services department and be based in our St Louis MO headquarters. The scope of your role will be to provide support to all functional areas of the Peabody Business Services shared service model, including but not limited to the following: Customer Invoicing, Customer Collections and Receipts, Vendor and Customer Creation, Master Data Management, MPA Administration, Outline Agreements, Workflow, Purchase Order (PO) Creation, Bid/Buy, Accounts Payable, Payroll, HRIS, Employee Services and Benefits Administration. Duties may be both projects oriented as well as daily operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • The intern will be exposed to and provide support to all functional areas of the PBS shared service model.
  • Potential duties in the PO Creation functional area include: Communication with site regarding their procurement requirements; Communication with vendors for product pricing, order delivery status or availability of materials; Closure of obsolete purchase orders; Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) PO Creation; and Backorder management.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and assisting with the implementation of process enhancements.
  • Providing administrative support to department staff, which may include organizing files, handling correspondence, and assisting with project management tasks.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from different departments or teams to facilitate smooth operations and ensure effective communication and coordination.

Requirements

  • College undergraduate status for those currently pursuing majors such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Project Management, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Human Resources, Organizational Management, Information Systems; other relevant majors may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft: Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.
  • Ability to learn SAP and other software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data and root cause analysis.
  • Strong customer service focus and orientation.
  • Flexible and willing to support in multiple functional areas.
