About the position

The Site Coordinator at Harrison Morton Middle School is a pivotal role within the Communities In Schools (CIS) framework, focusing on the implementation of integrated student supports tailored to the unique needs of the school community. This position requires a dedicated professional who will work closely with the school principal and leadership team to conduct a comprehensive school-wide needs assessment. The Site Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing school-wide, group-level, and individualized supports that address the identified needs of students and families. This includes monitoring the effectiveness of these supports and making necessary adjustments based on data-driven insights. The role also involves tracking student and school data to report on outcomes, ensuring that the initiatives are impactful and aligned with the CIS mission. In this role, the Site Coordinator will create an inventory of needs and assets within the school community by collecting objective data and surveying students, families, and school staff. Collaboration with school administrators and staff is essential to plan effective supports that prioritize the most pressing needs. The Site Coordinator will establish a School Support Team comprised of various school staff members who will meet regularly to support the delivery of planned programs and services. Additionally, the coordinator will partner with community organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to bring vital resources into the school, ensuring that students and families have access to necessary support. The Site Coordinator will also be responsible for case managing students identified as at-risk of dropout, based on attendance, behavior, course performance, and other risk factors. Strengthening relationships between the school and parents/guardians through meaningful communication and family engagement events is a key aspect of this role. The coordinator will collect, track, and report data regarding school-wide, group-level, and individual student outcomes using the CIS web-based data management system, administer annual surveys to assess the effectiveness of programs, and deliver quarterly progress reports to the School Support Team and CIS administration. Participation in CIS training and professional development is expected, along with attendance at CIS and school events as required. The Site Coordinator will serve as a well-informed ambassador for CIS, furthering its mission and goals while remaining focused on student needs and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Create an inventory of needs and assets within a school community by collecting objective data and surveying students, families, and school staff.

Requirements

  • Experienced leadership for on-site coordination of service providers, volunteers, parents, students, and school staff.
