We ensure that infrastructure services have world-class reliability and uptime. Site Reliability Engineer(SRE)s are the driving force that keeps the system running smoothly and helps identify any bottlenecks before they become issues. We focus on optimizing services, building infrastructure, and eliminating manual operations work with automation. Partner with the best. The Certificate Provisioning System(CPS) SRE team shares responsibility for the availability and performance of mission critical Akamai certificate provisioning infrastructure. As a SRE, you will troubleshoot, assess performance and capacity of our platform, and make improvement recommendations. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of software that improves the availability, scalability and performance of services.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of operating and monitoring Java applications and Dockerized containers
• Demonstrated experience automating tasks in Python and other scripting languages
• Experience with relational database systems and complex SQL statements
• Excellent problem-solving skills, be a team player and be able to mentor team members
• Extensive experience in Linux/UNIX environment system administration

Responsibilities

• Designing, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs via monitoring tools
• Managing system-level performance tuning to optimize for reliability and efficiency
• Acting as an escalation point for support, platform and product teams to ensure platform reliability
• Partnering with product, development and test groups to guide software releases and lead software deployments
• Developing automation tools to reduce SRE toils for day-to-day work including feature activation
