About the position

Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role within the Investment Banking Capital Market IT team. The position involves working with the latest technology stack and solving complex business problems in an Agile environment. Role based out of Cary; hybrid roles 3 days/week in office (no option for fully remote).

Responsibilities

  • Respond to, triage, and resolve incidents, including communication and escalation to relevant teams (end users, business, application, infrastructure etc.).
  • Support systems in a 24x7 follow-the-sun environment, including troubleshooting, patching, and root cause analysis.
  • Provide first- and second-line support and platform expertise to tenant application teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing SRE practices: SLI/SLO, Error Budgets, Toil Reduction, and Blameless Post-mortems.
  • Contribute to platform enhancements as part of resiliency and reliability-focused sprint deliverables.

Requirements

  • Hands on Application Production Support as L1/L2 who worked on projects related technologies for multiple years in Investment Banking Capital Markets domain.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and related capabilities (GKE, IAM, Identity Services, GDC, CloudSQL) or similar technologies.
  • Good understanding of monitoring tooling i.e. Prometheus, Grafana, GCO, Geneos ITRS.
  • Experience implementing SRE practices.
  • Other tooling we would be interested in: Linux, Windows, SQL, Network fundamentals, Scripting, GitHub, Git Workflow, Terraform, ArgoCD.

Nice-to-haves

  • Agile development experience is valuable.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for security responsiveness.
  • Solid understanding of network diagnostics and analytical tools.
