About the position

The Site Superintendent/Site Safety/Quality Control is a pivotal role within McKenzie Construction, acting as the company's representative on construction sites. This position is responsible for the daily coordination and direction of construction projects, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, within budget, and on schedule while meeting the company's quality standards and client expectations. The Site Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to review plans and ensure that daily and weekly activities align with project goals. This role requires managing complex projects that involve critical phasing and responding to inquiries or complaints from clients. Additionally, the Site Superintendent will oversee multiple subcontractors and engage with potential subcontractors to obtain pricing, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily coordination and direction of construction projects.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted safely, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Review project plans with the Project Manager and ensure alignment with daily and weekly activities.
  • Manage complex projects that require critical phasing.
  • Respond to general inquiries and/or complaints from clients.
  • Oversee multiple subcontractors and ensure their work meets project standards.
  • Meet with potential subcontractors to obtain pricing.

Requirements

  • 5 years of construction experience
  • OSHA or CQM training
  • A valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Able to pass a background check
