About the position

The Skilled Nursing Facility Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the business office operations within a nursing home environment. This role includes managing accounts receivable, maintaining resident files, and ensuring compliance with Medicaid reimbursement processes. The manager will also supervise administrative staff and assist residents and families with Medicaid applications, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records for all Accounts Receivable, including collections and petty cash.
  • Process items for corporate accounting functions under the supervision of the Administrator.
  • Maintain current resident business files and leases.
  • Maintain Community census data and Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Manage Resident Trust Fund accounts.
  • Assist residents and families in applying for Medicaid when necessary.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations for admissions and other needs.
  • Supervise front desk staff and any other administrative support staff.
  • Cover the reception desk when necessary in smaller communities.
  • Provide backup for receptionist at larger communities.
  • Oversee telephone training and quality assurance.

Requirements

  • Nursing Home Experience required.
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office (Preferred).
  • 1 year of administrative experience (Preferred).
