Skunkworks Senior Subsystems Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3)

About the position

We continually look for ways to improve processes and performance while extracting cost by focusing on the areas of subsystems installation and integration. In this role, you will lead small teams focused on portions of the build to ensure production needs are met and discrete deliverables are completed ahead of need. You will conduct critical design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will develop assembly plans and innovative solutions to address daily challenges, ensuring efficient production flow. You will create and maintain detailed manufacturing products and documentation, provide direct support on the production floor, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. Utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), you will develop manufacturing processes and interpret drawings and model-based designs, translating them into actionable steps for manufacturability in the production environment. You will collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to product improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing products and documentation.
• Provide direct support on the production floor, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions.
• Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to develop manufacturing processes.
• Interpret drawings and model-based designs for manufacturability.
• Collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross-functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production planning.
• Experience supporting vehicle systems installations & integration into a final product, including systems like electrical, fuel, hydraulic, propulsion, avionics.
• Active Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.

• STEM degree preferred.
• Previous team lead experience preferred.
• Experience in liaison role supporting production activities and rapidly resolving constraints.
• Experience supporting final assembly and coordinating closeouts and system checkouts.
• Experience supporting various projects and coordinating activities related to the full life cycle of projects.
• Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plans.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning.
• Self-starter with ability to operate with limited direction.
• Previous experience with engineering releases and configuration change control.
• Proficient in 3D modelling software (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Nx), PLM programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter), and MES programs (iBASEt, SAP).
