About the position

The Social Media and Digital Manager at the IU Jacobs School of Music is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that enhance the brand's presence, engage the audience, and drive traffic to various platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of social media trends, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a content creator who is passionate about social media and digital engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Create engaging content tailored to each platform, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Manage day-to-day social media activities including posting updates, responding to comments, and engaging with followers.
  • Ensure all content is proofread for accuracy and adheres to brand guidelines.
  • Leverage Hootsuite, Meta, and other social media analytics tools for reporting and optimization.
  • Monitor social media trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Build relationships across all organizational departments, including overarching IU teams.

Requirements

  • Proficient in social media management tools and web analytics.
  • Experience in advertising on social media platforms.
  • Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
  • Knowledge of video editing techniques and software (Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent).
  • Excellent proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to create compelling content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms for tracking campaign performance.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in marketing (1 year preferred).
