About the position

The Social Media Content Creator's primary role will include oversite of all online content for the Philadelphia Kroc Center. Specifically, the Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for the maintenance and updating of the website, creation and management of video (including editing) for social media, develop and maintain a robust social media plan. In order to accomplish this, the Social Media Content Creator must also make attendance and participation in Kroc Center special events a priority.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that programs, resources, events, and other relevant information are represented on the website.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with staff having responsibilities for each program to assure information is up-to-date and correct.
  • Capture video at all Kroc Center special events and shoot for special projects.
  • Responsible for assembling captured raw footage material into a finished project that is suitable for all audiences and can be displayed on various outlets.
  • Use nonlinear editing software to assemble videos and put together a sequence that will create dynamic visual content.
  • Establish a social media strategy with Kroc Center ministry departments, including goals for the number of followers, number of posts and reposts, and development of measurable valuation of influence on programs, events, and initiatives.
  • Attend special events as assigned by Sales & Marketing Manager.
  • Document the event through video, created videos, photos, and receive feedback from members/guests during events for online and print publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to connecting with our community.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Driver's license; must pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Driver's test.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • PA Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Must possess an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
