About the position

The Social Media Manager at Handshake will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that align with business objectives and enhance Handshake's presence across various platforms. This role involves content creation, community management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to amplify the brand's voice and engage with the Gen Z audience effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies that support business objectives.
  • Manage content ideation, social calendar, production, and measurement across all channels.
  • Drive the content creation process from ideation to publishing in collaboration with the brand design team.
  • Support executive LinkedIn content creation by identifying unique angles and trending topics.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for social components of product launches and events.
  • Build relationships with students, employers, and influencers to amplify reach.
  • Monitor accounts for customer service inquiries and brand risks.
  • Stay updated on trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes.
  • Use data to track performance and pivot strategies as needed.
  • Engage in proactive community management.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in social media management, either in-house or agency.
  • Expertise in content strategy, social copywriting, video production, social analytics, community management, and platform optimization.
  • Ability to multitask, project manage, and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to test, iterate, and adapt strategies based on feedback.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management tools like Asana or Jira.
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools such as Sprout Social or Meltwater.
  • Proficiency in creative tools like Canva, Figma, and CapCut.
