About the position

The Social Media Manager will oversee the strategy, management, and daily execution of Sally Beauty's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, X, Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube. This role aims to engage both new and existing customers through impactful content strategies that drive short-term engagement and foster long-term brand loyalty. The manager will be responsible for creating and managing social media content, engaging with the online community, and ensuring alignment with business priorities and marketing goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the editorial calendar for organic social platforms.
  • Develop content ideas based on business priorities and social media trends.
  • Source or create content (video, static, animation) that adheres to brand guidelines.
  • Route content for leadership approval and make necessary edits.
  • Own content publishing and back-end tagging.
  • Manage the Creator Collective UGC program, including briefing and budgeting.
  • Support always-on brand content and specific campaign needs through social media content briefing.
  • Maintain day-to-day platform needs such as bio updates and pinned posts.
  • Lead community management efforts, engaging with consumers and managing brand conversations.
  • Utilize social listening to identify trends and opportunities for engagement.
  • Engage with beauty enthusiasts to build long-term relationships within Sally Beauty communities.
  • Lead reporting, listening, trend forecasting, and budget management alongside the Sr Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years in a related role.
  • Experience as a Social Media Community Manager.
  • Proven execution experience in social media strategies using data for improvement.
  • Experience maintaining a social media editorial calendar.
  • Familiarity with social listening practices for content planning.
  • Experience with content ideation, development, editing, and publishing across various platforms.
  • Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms, especially TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Ability to represent a brand online effectively.
  • Familiarity with Sprinklr software and CreatorIQ is a plus.

  • Experience in a retail or beauty industry setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media analytics tools.
  • Creative skills in video editing and graphic design.
