About The Position

The Software Dev Engineer TEST-III position at Belcan involves developing and implementing manufacturing test strategies for robotic manipulation applications. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality product delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focusing on test development and support for robotic arms and associated systems. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance product manufacturability and testability while promoting a safe working environment.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of related work experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/test engineering focused environment.
• Experience with debugging industrial robots such as Fanuc, Rockwell, Siemens PLCs, IO-Link based control systems.
• Functional knowledge of one or more programming languages (LabVIEW/MATLAB/Python or similar).
• Demonstrated expertise in test strategy development, ability to define test requirements, and implement manufacturing EOL test solutions to support NPI programs.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical equipment, electro-mechanical controls, power systems (1ph/3ph AC/24-48VDC systems).
• Experience with reading and debugging with electrical schematics.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Electrical, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Electrical & Safety Standards, functional safety systems for industrial controls.
• Experience in support or maintenance in manufacturing or field sustaining environment.
• Experience developing & maintaining Automated Test Systems using LabVIEW/TestStand, Python, MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent tools.
• Experience with PLCs, networking, and wireless computer systems.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art automated test equipment and test fixture design.
• Excellent business communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively foster and drive a culture of inclusion.

• Document test procedures, test specifications, and acceptance criteria for new and current products.
• Guide and implement the design of automated test solutions, including electrical interfaces, interface test adapters, and software.
• Propose design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability.
• Write programs to control test equipment and devices under test using standard software tools.
• Support EOL test stations at local contract manufacturers and system integrators.
• Persistently promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
