DV Trading, a rapidly growing independent proprietary trading firm, is seeking a skilled professional to join our team. Founded over 15 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, we have expanded to more than 450 employees across North America and Europe. Our firm specializes in providing liquidity to global financial markets and offering hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. As part of our commitment to innovation and efficiency, we are looking for an individual who can gather requirements from various internal business units and collaborate with technology staff to develop and implement effective solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling a comprehensive development plan that addresses the needs of our stakeholders. You will work closely with both technology and business stakeholders in an iterative manner to deliver enhanced platform functionality. Your expertise will be crucial in developing solutions that improve and optimize our back office processes, ensuring that we maintain our competitive edge in the financial services industry. Additionally, you will provide regular status updates on your assigned work to management and may take on project management responsibilities as needed. A key aspect of this position involves advising, educating, and training key stakeholders within the organization on the adoption of changes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from internal business units and technology staff.
  • Assemble a development plan for implementation and communicate the plan to stakeholders.
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders in an iterative fashion to deliver platform functionality.
  • Develop solutions to improve and optimize overall back office processes.
  • Provide status updates on assigned work to management and act as a project manager on projects when required.
  • Advise, educate, and train key stakeholders within the organization on adoption of changes.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of financial industry experience developing back office software.
  • Experience programming using Java, Scala, C++, and Python in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience with FIX protocol, Docker containers, Kafka, and Lftp.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders across the organization to gain consensus.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (master's degree preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Reference data across traded product types (e.g. Equities, Commodities, Futures and Options, Fixed Income).
  • Postgres Database and SQL programming.
