About the position

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer for the AWS Networking organization to design and develop software and services for configuring and automating operations. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure scalable designs and maintain customer focus, while delivering projects that meet team and cross-team needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software components and services that deliver new features and capabilities.
• Prepare estimates for upcoming deliverables and document proposed solutions.
• Review code of other team members and write well-structured, optimized code.
• Perform root cause analysis on operational events and provide project updates to leadership and team members.
• Interact with other teams to understand their needs and integrate with their systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
