About The Position

The Software Development Engineer position at Amazon Web Services (AWS) focuses on developing core software for the EC2 VPC team, which is integral to the AWS cloud infrastructure. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of best practices for full software development life cycle.
  • Experience building complex software systems delivered to customers.
  • Experience with modern programming languages such as Java, C+, or C#.

Responsibilities

  • Establish technical direction and foster team culture.
  • Grow junior engineers through mentorship and code reviews.
  • Deliver features to internal and external customers.
  • Engage in all parts of the software development lifecycle, from defining to testing new features.
  • Support own code in production and participate in on-call responsibilities.
