About The Position

The Software Engineer 2 position at RealmOne involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, particularly focusing on the ServiceNow platform. The role requires proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, along with experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Agile methodologies. The engineer will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure software components meet design requirements and resolve any issues that arise. This position is crucial for supporting the effectiveness of important missions both domestically and internationally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Two years of experience developing and customizing core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Catalog.
• Four years of IT application systems experience in technology solutions delivery is required.
• Proficiency in ServiceNow development and administration, including workflow creation and form customization.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with API integrations within ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with modules like ITOM, CSM, and experience using project management tools like Jira.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and provide input to system design.
• Utilize software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Perform ServiceNow system administrator functions and enhance workflows.
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Serve as team lead at the appropriate level for the software development process being used.
• Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
• Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities.
