About The Position

As a software engineer on the Device Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining platform services to allow sellers to remotely manage and monitor their Square devices. This includes backend solutions to represent all of a seller's POS devices and peripherals, both internal and external APIs, and collaborating with partner teams to build reusable patterns and components to better serve Square sellers as they configure, manage, and interact with their devices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience
• Understanding and curiosity in creating highly available, scalable, low-latency, distributed systems
• Strong communication skills and a strong desire to deliver a great product
• Technical initiative and a desire to make those around you better
• Eagerness to share your own ideas, and openness to those of others
• A knack for creating readable, well-crafted, maintainable code

Nice To Haves

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud or Azure
• Experience working on platform teams that support first party and third party integrations
