About the position

The Software Engineer, Data Mobility role at DoorDash focuses on enhancing the data ingestion framework that supports the company's logistics engine. This position is integral to managing the flow of telemetry and transaction data into the data lakehouse, enabling various business lines and machine learning models. The role involves working with advanced open-source technologies to ensure high-quality, low-latency data integration, contributing to DoorDash's international expansion and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of a scalable data ingestion framework.
• Integrate high-quality, low-latency data into online systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Analytics, Product, and Engineering.
• Drive innovation and maintain reliability in data infrastructure.
• Support the evolution of systems to accommodate a 10x scale increase.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with CS fundamental concepts and programming languages such as Scala, Java, or Python.
• Prior technical experience in Big Data solutions and data infrastructure.
• Experience with open-source big data processing frameworks like Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, and Delta Lake.
• Ability to improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of data platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud platforms and services.
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications.
