About The Position

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join the Customer Digital Identity team, which focuses on creating an intelligent data platform that processes customer activity in real-time. The role involves designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems that prioritize scalability, efficiency, and fault-tolerance. Requirements

  • Strong sense of ownership and focus on quality and innovation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with distributed teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language, including Java and/or Scala.
  • Experience with multi-tenancy, resource isolation, and self-serve debuggability in large-scale services.
  • Experience in handling and triaging complex production issues.
  • Solid understanding of stream-based and RESTful APIs integration.
  • Prior exposure to Azure, GCP, Kafka, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies.
  • Experience with SRE practices, including operational architectures and observability.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in building large-scale products and distributed systems.
  • 1+ years of experience in relational designs and NoSQL modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement large-scale distributed systems that process large volumes of data.
  • Focus on scalability, latency, efficiency, and fault-tolerance in system design.
  • Develop key components across big data platforms and collaborate with engineers and product managers.
  • Model behaviors such as data-driven decision making and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Improve the team's definition of best practices and architecture with deep domain knowledge.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that values candid feedback for continuous improvement.
