The Software Engineer is a key player on a development team, using an Agile development model in a fast-paced and innovative environment. The Software Engineer is responsible for developing technical solutions to meet product and customer needs, training new team members, and communicating and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Proactively influences squad communication and team dynamics
• Collaborates with other team members within respective Agile squad and Tribe to define and develop technical solutions to meet product and customer needs
• Creates and maintains documentation that is easily consumed by others
• Improves the development experience at Truckstop by enhancing development tools, test coverage, and code structure
• Improves code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability
• Independently develop, document, and enhance API endpoints using Node.js or C#, .NET / .NET core, AWS lambda, serverless, API Gateway and SQL
• Implements code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others
• Responsible for the entire lifecycle of their code: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements
• Independently performs code reviews that follow Truckstop's published standards and practices
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline with minimum 4 years of related experience
• Strong understanding of object-oriented principles and software design pattern
• Proficient in developing responsive web apps using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
• Experience with C#, Asp.Net / Asp.Net core, Entity framework
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on experience working with Web Services such as REST
• Experience writing Ad-Hoc SQL queries, Transactional Queries, and Stored Procedures
• Experience using CSS preprocessors such as SASS
• Experience integrating apps with RESTful API’s or GraphQL
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud services a plus
• Experience with API development using Node.js or Asp.net core, AWS lambda, serverless, API Gateway a plus
• Strong debugging and diagnostic skills
• Able to articulate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
• Skilled at clearly documenting design and concept ideas
• Ability to give and receive feedback

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CI / CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes

Benefits

• Base salary range of $96,000—$120,000 USD
• Eligible for a yearly bonus
