About The Position

The Software Engineer Lead position within the Warfare Systems team at HII's Mission Technologies division involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems to support the Intelligence Community. The role requires collaboration with team members and customers to ensure effective data dissemination and system performance, contributing to national security efforts.

Requirements

  • 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field
  • 7 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field
  • 4 years relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly

Nice To Haves

  • Solid knowledge of Python and XML
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Experience with build environments such as Gradle or Maven
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Exposure to streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka)
  • Understanding of Elastic Stack (Elastic, Logstash, Beats, Kibana, Fluent, etc.)
  • Experience in Business Analytics application, support, and troubleshooting concepts
  • Experience with Groovy and/or Java
  • Experience with continuous integration environments, such as Bamboo
  • Knowledge of PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
  • Knowledge of RDMS, such as Postgres
  • Experience with creating and optimizing queries
  • Knowledge of database storage and retrieval using Cloud technologies

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems
  • Working individually or as part of a team
  • Reviewing and testing software components
  • Resolving software problem reports
  • Utilizing software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment
  • Debugging existing software and correcting defects
  • Designing and coding new software or modifying existing software to add new features
  • Developing data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
  • Performing application testing
  • Assisting with developing and executing test procedures for software components
  • Writing or reviewing software and system documentation
  • Providing recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
