About The Position

The Software Engineer position at Parsons Corporation involves working within the Space Operations directorate to develop critical mission applications for the space community. The role focuses on enterprise software development, particularly in support of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies for Space Domain Awareness tools. The ideal candidate will be part of an Agile team, contributing to innovative solutions that address national security challenges in the space domain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an engineering field with at least 2 years of technical experience.
  • Experience in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging enterprise application software.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
  • Experience with Java application development, specifically in microservice architectures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment and learn new tools quickly.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Experience with SQL commands and queries.
  • Knowledge of Docker and scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python, PowerShell, BASH).
  • Experience with Spring Boot and DevSecOps concepts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline technologies such as Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Knowledge of AWS/GovCloud technologies and RESTful web services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Agile Software Development using Scrum methodology.
  • Security+ Certification and AWS Practitioner Certification.
  • Active TS security clearance, with SCI eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise application or platform infrastructure software.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and space analysts to create capabilities for machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Participate in Agile team activities to support the development of critical mission applications.
  • Document, test, and debug software applications as part of the development process.
  • Utilize object-oriented analysis and design techniques in software development.
