About the position
The Software Engineering Manager for Insurance Product Personal Lines will lead and empower a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. This role involves collaborating with product management and tech leads to develop roadmaps, ensuring a consistent delivery process, and focusing on people development and coaching within the team.
Responsibilities
- Drive software delivery on the Insurance Product roadmap.
- Lead engineers on product-facing teams.
- Build various software engineering projects while aligning with business goals and security strategies.
- Establish operational objectives, procedures, and work plans, delegating assignments to team members.
- Make final decisions on implementation and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Guide product managers on design and implementation trade-offs.
- Translate problems into designs for software engineering teams.
- Engage with Tech Leads to provide technical vision and strategy.
- Execute on technology strategy and engineering roadmaps created by senior management.
- Provide coaching to engineers for technical and professional growth.
- Conduct managerial interviews for candidates.
- Participate in the Incident Management on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 4 years of related experience in Product Lines (PL).
- Prior experience supporting software for Finance & Accounting teams in the Insurance industry.
- Technical credibility with experience as an engineer or senior engineer.
- General understanding of leadership skills, including coaching and team building.
- Advanced project management skills including time and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage teams across geographies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced business acumen and technical knowledge.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the Insurance industry.
- Knowledge of Central Insurance's policies and processes.
