About the position

We are looking for a mid-level Software QA/Test Developer with back-end web application and systems-level experience to join our IBM Cloud Fabric Development Team in India. The IBM Cloud Fabric Development team is running IBM's current generation cloud platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers' most demanding workloads, at global scale and with leadership efficiency, resiliency and security. It is an exciting time, and as a team we are driven by this opportunity to delight our clients. The Fabric Development Team sits at the center of our larger IaaS development effort. QA/Test developers will be testing changes and additions to the existing codebase that provides workflow capabilities used by the larger IaaS development organization and are required to work with developers and stakeholders on these other teams to help solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute QA tests on all code changes delivered by the IBM Cloud Fabric developers.
• Design, develop and implement automated tests using Python Pytest framework and the IBM Cloud api's to exercise their capabilities.
• Monitor the execution of these automated tests as they are run on every release to ensure no regression has occurred.
• Understand the open source and commercial enterprise applications used by IBM Cloud and develop tests to ensure they work seamlessly with our application.
• Keep focus on end users and goals all through the development process.
• Work closely with product management, developers and stakeholders to ensure applications meet needs and expectations.
• Adhere to the highest levels of technical discipline and excellence to set a standard for the larger development organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or comparable extra work experience.
• Solid experience with Python and Pytest, or similar testing framework.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Apache ZooKeeper.
• Solid experience with RabbitMQ or similar messaging infrastructure.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
