About the position

Parsons is seeking a Software Systems Architect to support the Army PEO IEW&S Integration Directorate. This hybrid role involves software requirement specification, architecture design, transient data model definition, software test case development, and technical documentation production. The architect will work on the Integrated Sensor Architecture (ISA) project, focusing on the interoperable exchange of sensor data in tactical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering stakeholder needs and generating corresponding software-level requirements for implementation and testing of integration software.
  • Creating and publishing DoDAF Architectural Artifacts in coordination with other US Army/DoD Enterprise and Systems Architects.
  • Defining software transient data model enhancements needed for new capabilities and specifying mapping between this data model and other transient data models.
  • Developing test cases for verifying implementation of software requirements.
  • Producing artifacts such as formal external documents, informal internal papers, and slide decks that capture results of work.
  • Performing in-depth evaluation of internal and external technical documentation and recording detailed comments based on evaluation.
  • Collaborating with internal implementation and testing teams to ensure understanding and coverage of requirements and architectural designs.
  • Representing the customer in program reviews, planning discussions, and technical interchange meetings.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
  • BS degree in Systems Engineering or related field with five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience creating and publishing DoDAF Architectural Artifacts.
  • Experience creating software-level requirements and architectural designs.
  • Experience working with transient data models.
  • Ability to excel as a member of a collaborative team through open communication, transparency, and flexibility in U.S. Government customer's facilities.
  • Ability to relate professionally with senior U.S. Government customers and colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and key business stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the U.S. Army Network/Data Communication infrastructure and tactical networks.
  • Experience designing solutions for austere network environments.
  • Experience with optimizing use of network capacity.
  • Operational knowledge of MagicDraw.
  • Experience working in an Agile Development Environment.
  • Experience working and maintaining MBSE Models in a Digital Engineering Environment.
