About The Position

The Solid Waste/Recycling/Fleet Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance of the City of San Ramon's solid waste, recycling, composting, and fleet programs. This role includes managing waste collection initiatives, sustainability efforts, and fleet operations, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations while supervising staff and managing budgets.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in fleet management and project management.
• Knowledge of state solid waste and recycling legislation and regulations.
• Experience with solid waste, recycling, and organics collection and processing.
• Familiarity with fleet management software such as RTA or EKOS.
• Experience with zero-emission vehicle procurement and California Air Resources Board regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with commercial construction waste collection.
• Knowledge of shop tools and equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of solid waste, recycling, and fleet programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to solid waste and recycling.
• Manage fleet operations including vehicle repairs, servicing schedules, and tool inventory.
• Track vehicle inspections and update fleet management data.
• Develop and monitor program budgets and financial well-being.
• Conduct needs analyses and feasibility studies for assigned programs.
• Foster cooperative relationships with community and regulatory agencies.
• Provide technical expertise and support for assigned programs.
• Negotiate and administer contracts and agreements related to solid waste and fleet management.
