About the position

The Sourcing & Product Development Manager at Duluth Trading Company is responsible for driving sourcing initiatives for private label HGNA categories. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional partners to manage the product development and production processes, ensuring quality and timely delivery of products. The manager will oversee day-to-day functions including sourcing, costing, and sample management, while maintaining supplier relationships and mentoring a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive to achieve IMU & Speed goals while maintaining product quality.
  • Lead and mentor a small staff, providing guidance and expertise.
  • Build partnerships with cross-functional teams to execute product development and sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct cost analysis related to raw material pricing, yields, trim costing, and more.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to manage relationships and address development and production issues.
  • Deliver on-time, accurate product costing and monitor seasonal progress.
  • Highlight key development timelines to leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Manage the production TNA to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead vetting and onboarding processes for new vendors.
  • Collaborate with QA & compliance teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor development costs, sampling costs, and liabilities.
  • Partner with design and technical design teams to ensure accurate tech packs and factory communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, design, or product development (equivalent work experience considered).
  • 5+ years of experience in product development or sourcing.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under time constraints.
  • Strong knowledge of fabric and garment construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with a PLM system preferred.

  • Experience in the garment industry.
  • Familiarity with sourcing strategies for private label products.
