About The Position

The Construction Sales Representative at Waste Pro is tasked with enhancing the company's presence in the construction and demolition (C&D) industry within a designated market area. This role focuses on driving both short- and long-term revenue growth through strategic prospecting, business development, and relationship management. The representative will leverage consultative selling techniques to meet client needs and secure new contracts while maintaining existing ones.

Requirements

  • AS/BA/BS degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of sales/marketing/business development experience within the Waste Services Industry or business to business/managed services sector, with emphasis on Commercial Sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply consultative and solutions-based selling skills.
  • Experience in negotiation, bid responses, contract management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in sales generation, customer interaction, presentation, negotiation, account management, and sales closure.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, along with strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a high degree of integrity.
  • Basic understanding of sales automation technology used in the sales process.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the Waste Industry and relevant external forces influencing client buying decisions.
  • Ability to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Prepared for travel within a defined sales area.

  • Experience in the Waste Industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of competitors and market research skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop maximum potential sales volume and profitability within defined territory.
  • Effectively manage a list of qualified temporary C&D opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with drivers, operators, customer service, and account contacts to ensure service and safety commitments are met.
  • Participate in developing short and long-term strategic Market and Sales Planning with Regional and Corporate Sales Managers.
  • Meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales.
  • Match Waste Pro services to sales support required to meet and exceed customer needs.
  • Develop a strong customer and prospect base within the regional geographical area through phone calls and site visits.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through direct communication and solicitation of feedback.
  • Drive acquisition, retention, and renewal of contracts by developing and maintaining critical relationships with customers and decision-makers.
  • Prepare winning proposals by understanding the competition and using industry knowledge.
  • Develop bid and RFP submittal packages in partnership with corporate sales, marketing, and regional management.
  • Interface with WP executives, managers, associates, and customers to target opportunities and pursue leads.
  • Partner with Region Sales Manager(s) in closing contracts through negotiation and adherence to sales strategy.
  • Initiate billing and contract audits with finance and regional management to ensure best pricing and proper invoicing.
  • Resolve complaints and issues in support of the customer and compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in community events to promote Waste Pro's services.
  • Keep management informed of individual and sales activities that may impact the Division, Region, and Company.
  • Use Salesforce CRM and other tools to manage opportunities and report sales activity.
  • Research and stay current regarding competitor services and pricing.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Sales, Marketing, and Regional Specialists for press coverage and advertising recommendations.
