About The Position

The EHS Generalist at Ventura Coastal is responsible for providing operational support on safety and environmental matters across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe workplace. This role involves developing and sustaining safety initiatives, conducting training, and driving continuous improvement in EHS practices. The position requires collaboration with business leaders to address EHS challenges and integrate safety management into facility operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of EHS experience required.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex regulations.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining safety programs.
  • Knowledge of environmental management and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Cal/OSHA and injury reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized with knowledge of regulatory record-keeping requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10/30-Hour General Industry certification preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support on safety and environmental matters.
  • Develop and sustain safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in EHS practices across multiple sites.
  • Conduct training and education for the Operations team on safety and environmental management.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Track permits and compliance-related items associated with operations.
  • Lead by example in following the Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy.
  • Implement and train on Emergency Response Plans for each facility.
  • Maintain EHS Management Systems for tracking inspections and safety violations.
  • Compile and analyze safety data to improve workplace safety.
  • Maintain EHS record-keeping functions for audits and reviews.
  • Support during EHS regulatory inspections and liaise with regulatory agencies.
  • Manage vendor set-ups and requisitions in e:requester.
  • Develop and manage Health and Safety programs and training.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for EHS Programs.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations for timely reporting of accidents and injuries.
  • Assist in post-incident management of workplace injuries.
  • Perform inspections of capital projects to ensure safety and environmental compliance.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $74,450 to $78,000 with bonus potential.
