The Head of Investment Data Strategy and Governance at MassMutual is a pivotal role within the Investment Management (IM) division, responsible for leading the Investment Data Strategy team. This position requires an energetic and intellectually curious individual with strong analytical skills to define, communicate, and drive forward the data strategy for Investment Management. The successful candidate will partner with various teams across the organization, including Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Enterprise Technology, and MassMutual affiliates, as well as external third parties, to ensure that the investment data strategy aligns with the overall business objectives. The Investment Data Strategy team is integral to the IM Strategy and Governance organization, which focuses on optimizing governance and decision-making processes. This team analyzes and establishes common metrics, processes, and tools to support key internal and external stakeholders in progressing the IM target operating model. Additionally, the team coordinates strategic initiatives, Investment Compliance, and Investment Due-Diligence, ensuring that the investment data sourcing, aggregation, distribution, and governance meet the comprehensive requirements of the end-to-end investment management process. In this role, the Head of Investment Data Strategy will lead a team responsible for driving tangible business value through the delivery and adoption of data governance practices. This includes establishing an accountability model, measuring data quality, creating a data catalog, and engaging data consumers. The candidate will also play a crucial role in the design and implementation of MassMutual's target operating model for Investment Operations, providing investment portfolio reporting and analysis for various stakeholders, including the Portfolio Management team and the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors. The position also involves overseeing the budget for market data and technology suppliers, ensuring that the department's interests are advanced in working groups outside of Investment Management when appropriate.
