About The Position

The Patient Access Representative in the Float Pool Clinic is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient registration process and enhancing the overall patient experience. This role involves accurately registering patients in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and assisting patients in accessing healthcare services. The representative plays a crucial role in managing patient flow and supporting clinic operations while contributing to the organization's mission of providing compassionate care.

Requirements

  • 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to learn Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently register patients in Epic.
  • Monitor and manage the flow of patients through the clinic to ensure a best-in-class experience.
  • Review patient accounts to determine financial responsibilities and arrange payment plans.
  • Assist patients in accessing government and community resources for healthcare services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely referrals to other services and facilities.
  • Facilitate patient access to information, including MyChart.
  • Update patient records and enter charges as necessary.
  • Support clinic and health system initiatives for operational improvement.
  • Manage cash according to established policies and procedures.
  • Meet site collection goals and support performance excellence initiatives.
  • Provide quality training and orientation for new team members.
