About The Position

The Shoe Sales Associate at Scheels is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in the sporting goods retail environment. This part-time role focuses on engaging with customers, promoting products, and achieving sales goals while maintaining a professional appearance and a positive attitude. Associates will receive extensive training to become knowledgeable about the products and services offered, ensuring they can assist customers effectively and enhance their shopping experience.

Requirements

• Customer Service experience
• Ability to perform basic math; compute rate, ratio and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Strong oral/written communication and reading skills
• Ability to demonstrate product usage and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
• Ability to adapt to a changing work environment
• High school diploma or GED and/or 1-3 months of sales experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail sales
• Knowledge of sporting goods and outdoor products

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile
• Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and following Scheels professional salesmanship standards
• Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain all benefits
• Engage in conversation with customers and assist them in making buying decisions
• Demonstrate a passion for products in the store
• Attend all Scheels product training and store meetings
• Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
• Assist in all other assigned duties
