About the position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at ShiftMed, a healthcare staffing company that connects nurses with local healthcare facilities. The RN will have the flexibility to choose their work schedule and will be responsible for delivering safe and compassionate care to diverse patient populations in various healthcare settings. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, collaboration with healthcare staff, and the ability to meet the unique needs of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and document comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
  • Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
  • Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the identified plan; coordinate care delivery; employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
  • Evaluate progress towards attainment of outcomes.
  • Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
  • Evaluate one's own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues, and communicate effectively in all areas of practice.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice using the principles of Relationship-Based Care.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
  • Integrate evidence-based nursing and research into practice.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing care; complete documentation to support accurate charges and resource utilization.
  • Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and profession; direct the coordination of care across settings and among caregivers.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • 1 year of experience required for ED and MED/SURG.
  • 2 years of experience required for ICU and some SICU experience is required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Annual physical examination.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
